About
My name is Larisa Kurgalin. I came from Russia for love and have been living in this beautiful country since 2012.
Creativity has always been a part of me. From a young age I sewed, knitted and embroidered. My mother, grandmothers and teachers at school taught me the art of needlework. It is in our culture, in our family. As a child, I helped my grandmother spin yarn and my mother taught me to embroider when I was only 3 years old. I remember her joy when I first did not sew my embroidery to my pants, because I embroidered on my knees with the embroidery hoop. Later she taught me to sew on a sewing machine and knit and crochet.
When I arrived in the Netherlands, I started searching for myself. My husband bought me a sewing machine, knowing that I love sewing and am skilled at it. That is how my creative search began. I took part in various creative projects and started creating my own small projects.
Recently I was planning to start a craft course for children when I stopped by the Van der Raad Kleinvak store to buy something. I was a loyal customer and the store has always made me happy with its assortment and service. I knew that I could find everything I needed at that moment. But then the owner told me that she was going to close the store. At that moment a bell rang in my head. I realized that I did not want this store to disappear and that it had to continue to exist. It turned out that the owner was looking for a successor.
That is how I got my own store in this beautiful country, which I named "Rechte Steek". In that name I feel trust, reliability and the correctness of the chosen path. I hope to offer my loyal customers of Van der Raad Kleinvak and new customers in my store the best service and the best assortment. With me you will find what you need.
Welcome to Rechte Steek!
